1994 BMW 850 CI

This beautiful and very clean BMW 850 CI Automatic is a UK specification (RHD) but has been registered in southern France since 2005 in dry garage. For the first few years it was driven back to the UK for an MOT and it was insured on a 365 day EU cover from the UK. However, this arrangement became a bit of a chore so the owner decided to have the car registration changed from UK to French plates and to insure it in France, with a control technique (the French equivalent of a UK MOT). The only change that was made to the vehicle was to change the headlights. The original right hand drive lights have been retained. It would be a straightforward process to put the car back onto UK plates if necessary. It can be driven on any European roads without restriction. Purchased in July 2005 and has had the same owner since. The V5 document shows that it had 5 former keepers but records show only two prior to the current owner and this is supported by the documented maintenance records and service history.

The vehicle has covered 84,000 miles to date.

After that major repair just normal servicing was carried out until 2013 when it became necessary to rebuild the rear suspension and replace the trailing arms which had failed as had one of the springs (which had broken). Following that there was just routine servicing until 2015 when it became necessary to replace both from shock absorber units.

The vehicle was originally specified with enhanced callipers and very low profile tyres plus rear wheel steering at a cost of around £4000 extra in 1994. Several years ago the rear wheel steering failed (probably due to a faulty oil pump) but the computer
