The sports body is one of the finest we have seen coupled to an Alvis chassis. The beautiful two seater “beetle back” body catches your eye from every angle. The Firebird is offered in excellent condition which is a testament to level of craftsmanship used between 2008-2010 during the full restoration. The coachwork was entrusted to the well know Vintage and Veteran Coachbuilders Western Coachworks ltd, an eye watering amount was spent building this ash framed, aluminium skinned beauty. The highly commemorated Alvis specialist MCI Engineering of Blackburn carried out the engine work. The Engine now runs beautifully and fires at a single press of the starter, she pulls nicely along the road and is comfortable cruising at speeds in excess of 60mph. Road handling is excellent and the care taken in the setup is evident m the springs are also beautifully grease strung. The exterior is finished in a deep shade of Claret with only one door to the N/S and a step entrance if needed for the driver. The bodylines simply flow magnificently and the sleek louvered bonnet exaggerates the sports look. The chrome work is also in great condition as you would excpect from Derby Plating. The interior is finished in oatmeal leather throughout with storage pouches to the N/S and rear. The Seats are beautifully finished in fluted leather with red leather piping; there is also a large storage unit behind the seats which is suitable for carrying plenty of luggage/spares. The Firebird also looks great with the full hood system up; this comes with a hood bag or is easily removed by undoing one nut either side. The solid wood dashboard is complimented by all of the usual Smiths instruments. A charming and usable car in our showroom and ready for viewing.
