It is February 20th. , 1975 and 38-year-old Nicola Alberto enters the showroom of Alfa Romeo dealer Raganelli in Rome in the morning. After a few months of waiting, the time has finally come for him to enjoy his new love. After a quick espresso and some paperwork done, he wants only one thing: driving! His Alfa Romeo GT 1300 Junior in Lusso version is already invitingly shining in the Italian morning sun.
Nicola has chosen the beautiful color Faggio, a super chic color, and certainly when it is combined with a cream-colored so-called “finta pelle” interior. A truly “bellissimo” combination. Furthermore, the car is completely standard. Even a radio is not necessary. An Alfa Romeo has the music under the bonnet we always say.
It is March 17, 2019 and despite the bad weather in “Olanda” we still get a warm feeling of the expectation we soon will be able to pass on the still beautiful Bertone of Nicola to a real enthusiast of the famous Italian brand. Traditions have to be passed on and that’s also the goal of the original dealer of the Bertone, Raganelli, because these days they still deliver Alfa Romeos to enthusiasts.
Our beautiful Coupé has only driven 75.609 kilometers in the more than 44 years, and has been preserved as if it was the Mona Lisa of Leonardo da Vinci. It is really unbelievable that this car never has been restored. All spot weldings, all seams between the sheet metal parts and general factory finishing witness the authenticity and originality. Such a classic car is very rare and we are happy we can offer a car of this very high quality.
The interior looks immaculate. No cracks in the upper part of the dashboard, no discolored head liner, no damage to the chrome and stainless steel parts, no scratches on the windows, and even in those 44 years nobody damaged the frontpanel of the dashboard to built in a radio … The leather of the driver’s seat shows two due to wear, spots, but we consciously leave it the way it is. That is the light patina that makes owning a classic and unrestored car so attractive. Everything is super original and of the highest level. Many enthusiasts are looking for that, but it is becoming increasingly difficult to find acar like this.
Also the technique is in good condition. The car drives perfect. It runs, brakes, shifts and handles just as well as when Nicola left the showroom in 1975. All the bottom parts and chassis are of the same high level. A very light preservation has been protecting the undercarriage well all these years and the quality of the bottom parts is very clearly visible. We have placed on our internet site some pictures of the bottom of the car. After we removed some Italian dust here and there, it was clearly visable what an original, non-welded Bertone should look like.
Do we have the ultimate Bertone in our showroom? We think so, and we would like to invite you to come over and check it out yourselves if you have been looking for a long time and can’t find the right one or have doubts about the authenticity of the cars offered. We are looking forward showing you this Junior from top to bottom and we certainly test drive it together. Your wishes and our 40 years of experience and passion with Alfa Romeo, should be a good basis to come to a deal that you will enjoy for many years.
