Classic Jaguar E-Type for Sale

1972 Jaguar E-type 2dr Coupe 2+2, Series 3, factory sunroof

Wonderful original unrestored matching-numbers 1972 jaguar E-type with automatic transmission and only 62078 miles on the odometer. The car retains its original 5.3-liter 12-cylinder engine making 272 brake horsepower from the factory and presents all original, including factory sunroof and interior. The car is in good mechanical condition and a full inspection and service have been completed in-house.

The car can be enjoyed in its original condition for many years to come. Original from London, England, since right-hand drive, the car was imported into Denmark and is coming out of long-term Danish ownership. The car has a Danish title and registration. It is uncommon to find unrestored matching-numbers E-types, especially with factory sunroof, and this is a great example of a classic British car that has increased in value over the last few years.

History of the 1971-1975 Jaguar E-type:
The E-Type Series 3 was introduced in 1971, with a new 5.3L twelve-cylinder Jaguar V12 engine, uprated brakes, and standard power steering. Optionally an automatic transmission, wire wheels, and air conditioning were available. The brand new V12 engine was originally developed for the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It was equipped with four Zenith carburetors. The final engine was claimed to produce 203 kW (272 hp), more torque, and a 0-60 mph acceleration of fewer than 7 seconds, but this bhp figure was reduced in later production. The short wheelbase FHC body style was discontinued, with the Series 3 available only as a convertible and 2+2 coupe.

The newly used longer wheelbase now offered significantly more room in all directions. Series 3 is easily identifiable by the large cross-slatted front grille, flared wheel arches, wider tires, four exhaust tips and a badge on the rear that proclaims it to be a V12.
