Vintage and Prestige are proud to offer this 1903 Mors 24/32HP (5,000cc) Covered Double Phaeton For Sale.Registration:BS 8026Chassis no:24032Engine no:24032Dated by the VCC: 1903 This incredible piece of motoring history comes to us from long-term ownership and in excellent mechanical condition; the Brighton run is not a race… but if it was, this would be a serious competitor. Owned by Mr William Pollock of the Pollock auto showcase Pennsylvania from 50’s up until 1981. Purchased by renowned collector John Mozart and sold to the current vendor in 1986. The car was purchased with a ticket to the 1986 Brighton run which was completed successfully. During the run they noticed that excess oil was burning.  They removed the cylinder blocks, had them crack tested.  The cylinders were bored and lined, and all the pistons were fitted with new manufactured rings.   Radiator was removed, flushed and cleaned,  Gearbox was removed and fully overhauled, including new bearings and seals. Transmission brake assembly and shoes were overhauled. Every year there has been 2-3months worth of preparation before each run, they have completed over 20 runs with not a single DNF! This same preparation has been carried out prior to us collecting the vehicle so she is ready to drive. The body is a magnificent one-off design Covered Double Phaeton, she is magnificent from every angle! There is an abundance of brass covering the front of the car; factory fitted Phare Ducellier oval headlamps, Auteroche side lamps, Bleriot Spotlamp, Boa constrictor horn and all of the badges you could ever want! The dashboard is again full of interesting items; there is a period fire extinguisher to the N/S and a modern one to the O/S (one for show and one for “ just in case”), the central lubrication system that works by being pressurised by hot water is fitted to the centre with the central greasing system next to it. There are large period brass mirrors to either side. The overall look of the red paintwork and rubber matting is patinated and original, if only the car could speak, we would have some remarkable stories spanning some 116 years. The buttoned leatherwork clearly has been well treated as it is all in excellent condition and comfortable to sit it. There are neatly folded side screens that simply roll down and protect you from the inclement weather. The rear passengers are completely covered and entomb themselves in the rear warmth and comfort; the driver and passenger however may end up with a slightly damp leg and arm. To the roof you will see a beautiful selection of period luggage, which was carefully purchased over a matter of years, this fits in the roof rails with millimetres to spare, and even has a tonneau cover to protect it. Even the luggage is well thought out and cared for! There is also a provision and straps to carry spare tyres on the roof, tucked away underneath the rear seat and in the N/S running board box are more inner tubes than you would eve need on one journey. To the rear is another large storage trunk which with brass finishings and body colour paintwork. Underneath the bonnet lies a 4 cylinder, 5 litre masterpiece! Once shown how, the starting procedure is simple; just release the de-compression lever at the right time and she fires instantly. The engine is a “T” head with aluminium cylinder blocks, there are 4 forward speeds, double chain drive, plain bushed wheels and an easily released Sprague for hill holding.  The London to Brighton Veteran Car Run is 54 miles, we would suggest that once you have completed this with ease then carry on driving, take a ferry to France and find out how capable this incredible Mors really is. The way she drives is well ahead of it’s time and there are cars 10/15 years newer that are not as advanced. In our showroom and ready for viewing. Office 01375 379719Richard Biddulph 07967 260673Christoff Cowens 07772188037We accept Credit/Debit Cards.Part Exchange welcome.Weekend & evening viewings OK.Viewings by appointment :Prestige House.9 Globe Industrial Estate,Grays, Essex, RM17 6ST
