Description

When was the last time you saw a Simca Vedette? The Simca Vedette came about after Simca took over the Ford France plant.

With this came the opportunity to bring the V8 Vedette on to the market. The 2.4-litre “flathead” V8 engine was, even for those times, a fairly modest affair. The engine produced 75 Hp through a 3-speed manual gearbox. The Vedette has for its time modern McPherson struts at the front. Sedan version was also named the Americana body in France. Our Simca Vedette in the Versaille version was supplied to the States in 1957. Previous owners have always looked after the car with the utmost care. We believe it is probably one of the most authentic Simca Vedettes around. The inside is in a very original state. The previous owner did search for the right cloth to reupholster the interior but probably did not have the heart to meddle with the car’s authenticity. The Simca is full of character. The bodywork is very authentic with hardly any rust and is correctly aligned. The paint is original. Possibly it is an obvious decision to restore this car perfectly and the car does form a solid base to do this, but that is not necessary to enjoy this car. Perhaps it is more fun to continue this special French limousine’s journey as it is. In summary, this is a very fine and rare French classic with a full wallet containing Simca America Club newsletters and other documentation such as the original service book, owner’s manual and export papers. Will you take on the onward journey of this special time capsule?
