Classic Car Design offers you this rare AC Cobra 289 replica, the "narrow" version called "slabside". Less common than the 427 version, this replica is even rarer because it was produced by the Canadian manufacturer Aurora in the 1980s with the support of Ford. About 180 cars will be produced, there would be a dozen in France. This replica also has the distinction of being the only replica regularly approved in the United States at the time. It sets itself apart with its side repeaters, rear turn signals and reversing lights, and absorption bumpers! This 1984 model, regularly registered in France, is offered in its original condition without ever having been restored.
On the outside, the car presents very well, the paintwork is shiny. As we get closer we see a few scratchs and the underlays have worked a bit, it's a polyester body! even if they are surprising, the aluminum rims are what fitted the car when it left the factory.
Inside, perfectly coordinated with the burgundy exterior color, the beige leather upholstery is in good condition and has a nice patina. Slightly modernized compared to its model, the Aurora is nevertheless equipped with a beautiful battery of chrome-ringed gauges, bucket seats and a generous three-point roll bar.
Mechanically, equipped with a Jaguar rear axle, the car therefore benefits from 4 independent wheels and 4 disc brakes. Road handling is therefore healthy and fairly efficient. The 8-cylinder with 5 liters of displacement starts at the quarter-turn and runs perfectly. It is equipped with a 4-speed gearbox.
Driving a Cobra replica is already riding an iconic car, Driving an Aurora is adding even more originality! Driving a small roadster powered by a V8 is a unique and exciting feeling!
