The Bentley S1 was a luxury car produced by Bentley Motors Limited from 1955 unti 1959.This car was built as a 2-door Saloon James Young ( Body n° 3013 ordered by Bentley Motors ) and new delivered to its first French owner in Marseille. James Young was a British coachbuilding company, founded in 1863 in London Road, Bromley. They originally produced horsedrawn carriages. From 1921 they bodied several Bentley cars as well as others such as Alfa Romeo, Sunbeam and Rolls- Royce. The last bodies were made in 1967. [br][/br]This stunning LHD 2-door 4-light sports saloon or coupé offers a remarkable mix of sportiness and elegance.Later on (late ’60s) it was converted to the successful Mulliner DHC.Powered by an inline 6 cylinder 4,9 engine (4887 cc) with an automatic 4-speed transmission, this fantastic Bentley combines confort and power….The condition of the car is excellent, cabinet work with its precious walnut, pretty leather trim with the perfect patina and thick carpets offer all expected luxury…Lots of important documents retracing the history of this car, the initial order….are available, a pleasure to read but, above all, a pleasure to drive.The last careful Dutch owner had this well-maintained car for many years.
