Holmes Motor Company Ltd (trading as HMC Sports Cars) was founded in 1984 by Graham and Peter Holmes. HMC manufactured Sports Cars inspired by the Austin Healey 3000 and although the body shape was similar, the performance was that of an extremely capable modern sports car which was widely regarded as the finest in its class. Indeed, Geoffrey Healey was sufficiently impressed that he endorsed it as the Healey Mk IV, but unfortunately a 1989 dispute over the ownership of the Healey trademark meant the name was withdrawn and the car was launched simply as an HMC.
Despite this draw back, excellent reviews from Motor Sport Magazine, Performance Car, Top Gear and others meant that the HMC sold well worldwide until March 2001 when after 178 cars production ceased.
Watch this road test video from November 2015:
All HMC's had the same stylish GRP body sitting on a modern tubular chassis with all-round independent suspension and were powered by a Rover 3.9 Litre V8 Fuel injected Engine with a 5 Speed Manual Gearbox, optional Power Steering, Electric Cooling Fan, Disc Brakes and 15" Chrome Wire Wheels.
Built in late 1996 by HMC, this MK1V SE - Chassis No: SA90493GTURT0069 was supplied new by the UK concessionaires 'All Electric Garages' in Birmingham and it was first registered on 10th March 1997. It is finished in arguably the most desirable colour scheme of Ice Blue over Old English White with a Tan Leather interior piped in Blue, Blue Carpets, Blue Mohair Soft top with matching Hood Cover, Walnut Dashboard with chrome toggle switches and matching Mota-Lita Steering Wheel, Smith's instruments, Electric Windows, DAB Stereo, Power Steering, CAT 2 Immobiliser, Chrome Luggage Rack and sitting on 15" Chrome Wire Wheels with Yokohama tyres.

This example really is exceptional throughout and fantastic to drive and is a very rare and highly desirable example of a motor car which has increased in value enormously over the last 10 years or so and there is no reason to think that they will not continue to rise!
