Produced in 1229 examples, the coupe was an evolution of the earlier Flavia Coupé II series (whose design was by Pininfarina). Aesthetic changes were minimal, however: new grille, new rubber perimeter profile on the bumpers, chrome surround on the perimeter of the front end, removal of the periscope air intake on the engine hood, and relocation of the front "Lancia" badge. The interior also underwent no major changes, except for a general improvement in the equipment (similar to the sedan) and in the trim, which included the use of fine woods for the steering wheel, dashboard and dashboard compartment door (instead of the black plastic used in the previous Flavia) The engines and the entire mechanicals, on the other hand, were taken from the new 2000 sedan and gave rise to two versions: the 2000 Coupé, with carburetor fuel supply (115 hp) and the 2000 i.e. Coupé HF, with fuel injection (126 hp). The HF was recognizable externally by its matte-black front grille, the side sticker band on the sides (which most Lancers were quick to remove) and the different placement of the logo on the front grille (instead of a small "badge" on the hood), while internally it differed by the prominent instrument panel with a design similar to that of the Ferrari 330GT and the front seats with an added upper toggle to recline them. Both versions mounted as standard light alloy wheels upgraded to 14" .
