Description

California import, in exceptionally nice condition, has stood the test of time beautifully. Automatic , rare turbo diesel version , tinted glass, electric windows, tinted glass, roof rail etc. Drives perfectly. The build series with the internal designation W123 is the most built Mercedes-Benz ever. It was a car that belonged to the upper middle class and counts as the predecessor of the later E-class construction series. Its predecessors are the W114 (six-cylinder models) and the W115 (four-cylinder and diesel models), also called "Strich Acht" (/8), after the 1968 year of appearance. Both its predecessor and its successor, the W124, both ran off the assembly line a year parallel to the W123. The W123 series set new standards in vehicle safety and was one of the first station wagons in its class, as well as the first Mercedes Benz passenger car with a turbo diesel engine. From preproduction, which began in November 1975, to the end of production in January 1986, almost 2.7 million cars rolled off the assembly line. The series is considered the epitome of reliability and longevity in the automotive world. The series became so popular that in the early years there were even long waiting lists, sometimes of more than two years. There was also price speculation at times. Model history:The manufacturer's decision to keep the "Strich Acht" in the program for eleven months after the introduction of its successor, the W123, had several reasons. First, the model was still very popular, especially with cab companies and drivers and therefore still sold very well. Secondly, the W123 was so well received that right at the start of production, the waiting lists grew to over a year. The extra production line with the "Strich Acht" was therefore no superfluous luxury.Limousine.In August 1977, the limousine version was taken into production. This was extended at both the front and rear. The wheelbase had been lengthened by a total of 630 mm.T-Model.At the 1977 IAA, the T models (station) were presented. These were put into production in April 1978. Most stations were used as workhorses and therefore it is rare to find a good one.
