This is a beautiful Mercedes-Benz 500SL from the R230 generation. The car was delivered new in 2002 and is still in beautiful condition. The car has only 44,630 kilometers on the odometer and is in excellent condition. The body of the SL is in beautiful condition. The sheet metal is nice and thin and fits well everywhere. The metal hood is of course electrically open and close and functions perfectly. The car stands on original Mercedes-Benz wheels with good tires in the correct sizes. The paint is in very good condition with only some minimal signs of use. The interior is upholstered in beautiful gray leather, which is in new condition, as well as dark colored carpets. The dashboard is further equipped with beautiful wood inlays. The instruments and controls are all in very good condition and look like new. The SL is further equipped with all comforts. In short, there is no shortage of luxury in this delightful open German Autobahn Gran Tourer. No shortage of speed either. The 500SL is powered, as expected, by an M113 V8 engine that is, you guessed it, 5 liters in size. The engine produces a maximum power of 306 hp and an enormous torque of 460 Newton meters at only 2,700 rpm. The engine is mated to a five-speed automatic transmission and is top fit. The M113 is virtually impossible to break and this engine, with its low mileage, has just been run in. The car is otherwise in exceptionally good condition as well. The engine pulls like a winch and the automatic gearbox shifts wonderfully smoothly without jerking. The suspension is very comfortable and the brakes are more than capable of their task. The car is also beautifully documented. From the time the car was delivered new until the time the car came to the Netherlands in 2018, all receipts have been kept with the car and the invoices of the maintenance are also with the car. This shows that this SL has never lacked anything and the car is in top condition. Not only a beautiful SL to see but also a pleasure to drive.
