Classic Car Design offers you this very rare BMW Alpina B9. It is the first time that Alpina modifies a BMW 5 series of type E28 of which the most evolved series version in 1981 is the 528i. The famous 3.5L in-line 6-cylinder replaces the 2.8 and is largely modified : the cylinder head, the compression ratio, the pistons, the camshaft and obviously the electronic management. All the equipment that differentiates an Alpina from a BMW is there, this car has never been restored and is in a very good state of preservation, totally original.
On the outside, of course, the car has the usual Alpina decorative lines, as well as spoiler, rear spoiler and specific alloy wheels. The paint is shiny, original, with some normal traces of use for a 38 years old car! But the car looks great!
Inside, we dive into the eighties atmosphere. Black velvet with coloured stripes covers the bucket seats and the bench. The steering wheel and the Alpina knob are in superb condition, as is the entire cabin, which is in near-new condition.
Mechanically, in addition to the engine upgrades, the Alpina has better sized brakes and suspension. Everything works perfectly, the engine, the 5 Getrag gearbox and all the running gear. The 245 bhp can be expressed in all efficiency and serenity! And let's not forget that this "big" saloon weighed only 1300 kg!
577 B9/B10 were produced between 1981 and 1987. This car is numbered 447, the Alpina certificate of authenticity is present as well as the manual/maintenance booklet. Bought new at the Garage du Bac in Paris, the owner sold it to her son in 2002. We are therefore in the presence of a car that has remained in the same family since the beginning and has been driven less than 100,000 km! The car has just been serviced by a BMW specialist, so there are no costs to be expected, just enjoy this exceptional youngtimer!
