Description

1 of 330 275 GTB/4s madeMatching-numbers body, chassis, engine, and gearbox, according to factory recordsCertified by Ferrari Classiche in September 2014Accompanied by a leather tool roll
Introduced at the Paris Motor Show in October 1966, the 275 GTB/4 (or 4-cam) was a substantially updated car; built by Scaglietti, it featured new bodywork and was the first Ferrari to not be offered with wire wheels. Power came from a substantially reworked Colombo V12, still with two valves per cylinder but now with a four-cam engine and six carburettors as standard. The 275 GTB/4 could hit 165 mph with its 300 bhp engine. 280 4-cam versions were produced through 1968 - resulting in a total production run of 330 examples.
Chassis 10337
One of just 330 275 GTB/4s built between 1966 and 1968, leaving the factory in September 1967 prior to being delivered to its first owner via Motor S.a.s. di Carla Allegretti e C., based in Rome. In Italy for a short while, by 1974 the Ferrari found a new owner in California where it resided until being sold in 1988.
In 1989 it was offered for sale, described as having undergone restoration at Modena Sports Cars, its original Celeste coachwork having by then been repainted red. By 1994, the Ferrari had been exported to Japan, where it remained with one one family until 2009. It was sold to a further owner before being joining a major Collection in 2011.
The owner of the collection had owned another Ferrari 275 GTB/4 finished in Oro Chiaro in period - his first ever Ferrari, but sadly the car was stolen. This car was repainted in homage to his first 4 cam in Oro Chiaro over a Pelle Nera interior. In September 2014, the car was certified by Ferrari Classiche, documented by an accompanying digital scan that is available to view in the history file. The printed Classiche “Red Book” has been misplaced, and its next custodian will need to contact Ferrari Classiche directly to discuss recertification.
Beautifully presented with matching-numbers body, chassis, engine, and gearbox, this stunning 275 GTB/4 is a wonderful example of one of Ferrari’s greatest ever GTs.
