The Ferrari F40 is undoubtedly one of the most legendary cars ever built and it was the ultimate goodbye from Enzo Ferrari before passing away in 1988. Surprisingly, Ferrari didn’t build the car to compete in racing. Only when the French importer proposed it, Ferrari started considering it. All of the owners must’ve felt the same about driving the F40: a very expensive go-kart with an amazing amount of grip. Two vital qualities a race car has to have. When Daniel Marin (manager of the French dealership Charles Pozzi) and others proposed the idea of a racing F40 to the factory, they started making plans.
The were only 7 F40 GTs built. All GT's were built by Michelotto in 1993 and described as F40 CSAI-GT cars. All featured 590 hp, Brembo brakes, lighter, carbon fiber bodies [1050 kg], a racing uni-ball suCSAI-GT suspension, quick fill fuel, system, flat fours with cooling ducts for the engine, rear brakes and transmission, a fire system; plexi glass sliding windows; wider CSAI-GT speed line wheels; ride height dropped 5 cm
