What a special day it must have been when the first and only owner of this Ferrari 575 Maranello was able to pick up his new acquisition at Ferrari Munsterhuis in Hengelo. The car had been carefully assembled months before and is timelessly beautiful.
The exterior is finished in “Grigio Titano” and the interior is finished in “Nero” with those fantastically seated Daytona seats. Objectively, the color combination alone would be reason enough to want to buy this car. The simple fact that this example is equipped with the extremely rare manual transmission only makes the car more desirable. The car also received a Tubi exhaust to further enhance the sounds produced by the V12, for Ferrari enthusiasts the sound of a V12 with Tubi exhaust is food for the soul. The Ferrari 575M was a further development of the highly successful Ferrari 550 and was just a bit more refined in all aspects. For example, the 575 had larger brakes, a more powerful engine, improved aerodynamics and a nicer interior. The biggest difference from the 550, however, was that the Ferrari 575M could be ordered with an F1 transmission; the Ferrari salesman on duty at the time sold it as: exactly like Schumacher drives, with flippers on the wheel. The transmission was lightning fast at putting the gears in but less so at clutching, so the driving experience was often quite jerky and difficult to dose. The first owner of this one also noticed this during a test drive, and he did what only 242 people would do: check the box for the manual transmission. The bodywork of this example is in very good condition. The sheet metal is completely original. The fits are correct and the sheet metal is beautifully thin. The car is still in its first paint. That not only the paint is beautifully cared for. Some very light traces of use are visible here and there but nothing that doesn't fit the mileage and age of the car. The Ferrari is equipped with the original five-spoke alloy wheels that are fitted with new Michelin Pilot Supersports tires in the correct sizes. At the rear, the subtle Tubi-style exhaust stands out. The Tubi has nét slightly thicker end pieces than the standard car. The inside of the Ferrari is also beautifully cared for. The carpets are obviously original and in very good condition. You can tell the car has spent most of its life in a heated garage. The leather on the seats is still wonderfully supple and nicely maintained. The car is completely free of “sticky buttons” and has obviously always been cherished. The leather on the steering wheel is beautiful, the shifter looks great, and the headliner is beautifully done as well. Naturally, the dashboard is also fully covered in leather and is also in nicely cared for condition. At the time, the Ferrari 575M was a luxurious Gran Tourer, you will obviously lack nothing while driving this beautiful Italian berlinetta. The Ferrari 575M features include an original Becker radio, climate control, sport button, disabling ASR, power windows and electrically adjustable seats and a class 3 alarm. But it doesn't matter how good the body looks, or how nice the interior feels. A Ferrari has only ééone purpose: to drive! We can reassure you this Ferrari 575M certainly does not disappoint. Indeed, it is a car that will exceed many people's expectations of what a nearly 20-year-old Ferrari is capable of. The 5.7-liter F133 E/G is a true masterpiece. The intake is variable and a very solid engine. Consequently, the V12 produces 515 horsepower and is mated to a wonderfully shifting 6-speed manual transmission. The clutch is easy to operate and has a good engagement point. The steering feel in this Ferrari is so wonderfully analog, modern offerings from Maranello simply cannot match that. The engine is quite far back in the chassis and contributes to the fantastic balance of the car. Despite the rather hefty car weight of 1,850 pounds, the Ferrari has a nimble driving character and it is simply a joy to drive this car full throttle down your favorite mountain road. The sound of that V12, the click of the gearshift when putting in the next gear, everything adds up to één fantastic sum of Italian emotion and pure driving experience.
