Description

Did you know that "Daytona" was never actually Ferrari’s official model name? Yet the whole world knows this 365 GTB/4 by that legendary nickname—a name that originated after Ferrari’s impressive 1-2-3 victory at the 1967 24 Hours of Daytona. Some names aren’t invented; they arise because a car is greater than its type plate. This Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona exemplifies that sentiment.

Delivered via Charles Pozzi SA in 1972 and registered in 1973, this is a stunning European example finished in the iconic Rosso Corsa. The black leather interior complements the exterior perfectly. The dashboard features the familiar, characteristic finish that makes the Daytona so recognizable. This is a highly original and authentic Daytona.

The exterior and interior are in exceptionally good overall condition. The paint has a beautiful sheen and is of high quality, with excellent panel alignment. The original wheels and bumpers are in very good condition. Inside, authentic details and a fitting finish enhance its classic appeal.

Under the long hood lies the famous V12 engine, a development of the legendary Colombo engine. This powerplant made the Daytona one of the fastest grand tourers of its time. It was faster than its great rival, the Lamborghini Miura, highlighting Ferrari’s ambitions during that period.

This particular example has had both the differential and engine block overhauled. Maintenance was performed by a Ferrari dealer in France. The car’s history is well-documented: delivered through Charles Pozzi, maintained with proper care, and in excellent driving condition today.

While the 275 GTB/4 featured softer, more sensual lines, Ferrari opted for a sharper, more muscular, and aggressive design with the 365 GTB/4. The classic two-seater berlinetta proportions were retained—long hood, compact cabin, broad shoulders—a timeless formula that influences modern Ferraris even nearly six decades later.

Driving a Daytona is a grand, mechanical, direct, and impressive experience. The long nose points toward the horizon, the V12 sounds like only a classic Ferrari V12 can, and everything about this car feels built for fast journeys on European roads. It is a true gran turismo with the heart of a racer.

This Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona offers an exceptional opportunity for enthusiasts seeking authenticity and verified history. A Rosso Corsa Daytona with black leather, delivered via Charles Pozzi SA, well-maintained technically, and retaining its original character from the past.
