PRESERVED CAR WITH BLACK PLATES, QUADROTTE

History:Produced starting in 1949, the 500 C was the 100th FIAT passenger car model. To emphasize important technical innovations, a body makeover was decided to make it more modern. The front end was modified by recessing the headlights into the fenders; the classic, typically pre-war visible spare tire disappeared from the tail. On the technical side, cast iron was abandoned for the cylinder head, replaced with aluminum. To unify production, the convertible sedan version was made standard, while the sedan with a sheet metal roof could be had on request, with long waits. In 1951 the Giardiniera Legno abandoned the wood and faesite sides, in favor of the Belvedere , with new metal sheets made by stamping. The innovation brought great practical advantages, and sales increased considerably. Belvedere production ceased in 1955.

Replaced: fuel pump, starter motor, distributor and condenser, radiator, brake master cylinder and system hoses, battery cables.

-Revision of: tank treated with Tankerite(r), rebuilt draft, overhauled carburetor.
