The Mk3 Ford Fiesta arrived at the turn of the 1990s as a larger, more mature successor to Ford’s hugely successful supermini, and the XR2i brought fuel injection, sharp styling and genuine hot hatch appeal
Registered on 30th April 1991, this example presents as a desirable early XR2i-era Fiesta in Diamond White with blue striping, four-light front bumper and grey cloth interior
Powered by Ford’s lively 1,597cc CVH fuel-injected four-cylinder engine, producing around 103bhp driving the front wheels through a 5-speed manual gearbox, the XR2i offered genuinely brisk period performance with a top speed in the region of 116mph
The interior retains the familiar early-1990s Ford sporting cabin layout, including three-spoke steering wheel, rev counter, 140mph speedometer and simple analogue instrumentation, with the odometer displaying an incredible 9,740 miles
In current ownership since February 2023, this XR2i appears to be a well-preserved example. Showing just two former keepers the history folder suggests that the indicated mileage could well be correct
