Description

This is the classic American convertible...a 1966 Ford Mustang with glistening chrome, GT/Rallye wheels, and a GT headlight package with OEM correct wiring and switch! (turn on the fog lights and the tail lights come on). 140 MPH speedometer! It is a beautiful EASY driver with POWER STEERING. Nearly every time I take it out I hear, "This is my dream car!" Mine too, but now is not the time.

It appears to be restored about 20 years ago. It's well sorted out, and all the major things have been done to make it a solid "car + coffee" contender! I recently installed the retro AM/FM/Bluetooth stereo with upgraded speakers in the dash, front kick panels, and rear quarter panels. I upgraded the soundproofing in the car when the stereo was installed, as well as adding an armrest with cup holders and charging and courtesy lights for all passengers. I replaced the rear seat belts with officially licensed versions and added a center set to make certain that a 5th person "riding the hump" was safe as well.

This car shows very very well, with a few chips and dings that could easily be addressed for a perfect look. Speaking of which, I just put on new chrome bumpers, heater core and hoses, GT Rallye pack gauges and Monte Carlo bar. The windows stick a bit so I have all-new rails and rollers for those, with new felt to tighten the window glass and depending on the date of sale these might be done by then! I tinker with her to keep improving. All these parts and others are new in the box, and I will include everything in the sale. The car is beautiful without them, but again, it will make it even nicer.

Mechanically this car is a little beast !!! With the 4-speed and sport exhaust it is exciting and can turn heads when you want the attention, but can purr down the street so your neighbors don't wake up when you come home late for sunset drives. The side exhausts are discreet but do give it a "pay attention to this" sort of vibe. The power steering makes it a pleasure for city driving. The convertible top and the brakes are both manual.

It needs a very few things mechanically. Drive too long at night with all the lights on with the radio on "hell ya!" volume and the alternator does not keep up. Happened only once, but I bought a new high-output chromed alternator, that like the other parts mentioned is included in the sale. There is a short and the dash lights work immediately. I have a new gauge wiring harness that I will include. The speedometer "bounces" +/- 5 MPH which means the drive cable and/or gear is worn. I have both and will include that as well. All of the items listed do not interfere with enjoying the car now and will give someone a few things to "tinker with." It's been a great part of our family, but plans have changed so I will pass it on to the next person to finish these few last items.

It was originally a factory air-conditioned car, which was removed but will be included with the car. As I said above, I will include the parts that will need to be replaced in the next few years; manly just door and convertible top seals.
