Description

"All you need is an open road, low gears, high revs, and a V8 Mustang Fastback." – Ken Miles

Ken Miles knew exactly what he was talking about. Because indeed: all you need is an open road, low gears, high revs, and a V8 beast under the hood. And let’s be honest—what car was made for this exact purpose?

The Mustang Fastback V8 is the ultimate dream for any true car enthusiast. The 289 CI V8 doesn’t just deliver raw power; it produces a roar that will make you smile—whether you want to or not. Introduced in 1964 as one of the three legendary ‘pony cars’—alongside the Chevrolet Chevelle and the Plymouth Barracuda—the Mustang immediately stood out. Because this is much more than just a pony car; this is a thoroughbred. An icon with unmistakable American flair, a soft-tuned suspension, and that unforgettable V8 sound that resonates deep in your soul.

And when the weather plays along? You’ll catch yourself taking the “unnecessary detour”—not the fastest way home, but definitely the most fun.

And ours? A 1966 Ford Mustang GT Fastback that arrived in the Netherlands in 2007. An A-Code with a four-barrel carburetor for enhanced performance. Finished in stunning Ivy Green metallic with a black Pony interior, making it a highly sought-after classic.

The complete technical restoration—including the engine rebuild, gearbox revision, new exhaust system, and radiator—was carried out by Lusso Classics in 2021. Accompanied by a thick stack of invoices totaling up to €36,000. No expense was spared.

Does sound like an American Cool Classic, don’t you think?
