Survivor Classic Car Services Chicago is proud to present this immaculate 1968 Ford Mustang GT500KR convertible. It features a smooth coat of Acapulco Blue paint over a black interior with a white vinyl top, giving it a stunning presence. The Mustang was meticulously restored according to the included Marti report, with the only deviation being the alloy wheels; the original steel wheels and correct hub caps are included. The restoration began in the mid-1990s and was completed in the early 2000s. Since then, only about 5 miles have been driven, making it as close to a factory-new 1968 Mustang GT500KR as possible. The GT500KR, standing for "King of the Road," was the top-of-the-line model. It features a 428 cubic inch Cobra Jet V8 engine with a factory claimed 335 horsepower, though independent tests suggest closer to 400-425 horsepower. The KR package included a roll bar, heavy-duty suspension, a 140 mph speedometer, fiberglass trunk lid and hood, a strut tower brake, and other enhancements. The underside of this GT500KR is just as clean as the top, if not cleaner. A recent tune-up ensures it runs perfectly. This museum-grade Mustang is an excellent addition to any collection or a great way to start one. One cruise in this vehicle will have you smiling from ear to ear from the moment the engine fires up until well after it has been parked. This vehicle is available for viewing by appointment only.
