1969 R Code 428 Cobra Jet Mach 1
I’ve owned the car for about 2 years
The car underwent a full nut n bolt restoration around 2011. Some pictures are shown before and during. There is a grade & appraisal report after the restoration showing it was a full show car restoration and valued around $68k in 2012. The Marti report says it was only 1 of 1 with the cars identical options. 5 other Cobra Jets had additional options from this one; for a total of 6. When the car was done, it was sold to a gentleman out of RIGO tx, who I purchased it from around early 2023.
I believe it has around 1300 miles since the restoration. Mostly driven to local car shows or hooked up to a trickle charger in the garage, hence the low miles.
There is a Marti report in the pics, but here’s some specs:
-Factory R Code 428 Cobra Jet
-Factory AC in 1969, that has been upgraded to modern Freon. AC is ice cold
-3 speed automatic transmission
-upgraded stereo
-Global West Subframe connection
-the car was professionally painted Silver during the restoration (originally Acapulco Blue)
-Dakota gauges (I have the original gauges in a box) as well as a brand new set of Autometer style gauges I was going to install, for a more classic look
-the interior has silver (cobra badged) paneling. I was told the wood clock, and wood trim center console is still underneath. They just covered it during the restoration for a different look.
-the car runs amazing when I take it to shows, zero issues since I’ve owned and such low miles since the restoration.
Very very small imperfections here and there over the 14 years since restoration, but that’s me being very nit picky. Everyone thinks it’s a brand new restoration when I talk to people at shows. As you can see from the pics
