Description

An Italian coupe with German engineering. In 1967, this meant that an Italian coachbuilder transformed a solid Ford into a more beautiful and distinctive car. The OSI 20M TS was designed by Sergio Sartorelli and built by Officine Stampaggi Industriali in Turin.

OSI was a company focused on special body styles, prototypes, and small production runs for brands such as Fiat, Alfa Romeo, and Ford. The 20M TS was based on the Ford Taunus 20M. Beneath its elegant Italian bodywork, it features familiar Ford technology with the engine up front and rear-wheel drive. This design offers reliable engineering without the need for exotic parts or specialist maintenance.

Sartorelli gave the car a long nose, a low roofline, and an attractive rear end, resulting in a graceful appearance. From some angles, it hints at Maserati; from others, a large Fiat coupe. It shares some similarities with the rare BMW 3200 CS coupe but remains a unique and compact design. Its subtle lines and distinctive character are its greatest strengths today.

The OSI was primarily sold in Germany, where Italian design combined with proven Ford technology appealed to buyers seeking something special without high Italian running costs. Production was limited, with approximately 2,200 units built, though sources vary on the exact number. The model's production was short-lived, ending in the late 1960s, especially after the introduction of the Ford Capri, which was produced on a much larger scale. As a result, the OSI remains a rare outsider.

This example is a true driver’s car. It has been well-maintained and largely original, not extensively restored or overly polished. It drives exceptionally well and retains the original details that give it its unique character. Its history is well documented by previous owners.

Inside, the car features a comfortable interior with classic gauges, a three-spoke steering wheel, and wood accents, reflecting its Italian design roots. Most people would mistake it for a Maserati, Fiat, or an unknown prototype, but it is a 1967 Ford OSI 20M TS: a rare, hand-built European coupe that combines Italian style with reliable Ford engineering. It’s not perfect but offers a wonderful driving experience and is more exclusive than most cars on the road.
