Ford presents the GT in 2004, a super sports car that is completely inspired by Ford’s legendary racing car. As part of Ford’s centenary, the GT is instantly recognized by car enthusiasts around the world as a fantastic reinterpretation of the classic 1960s model.
The Ford GT is built with a 5.4 liter supercharged V8, an engine that produces 550 horsepower. This gives the GT a top speed of 330 km/h, the sprint to 100 takes only 3.8 seconds and perhaps even more impressive: the sprint to 200 takes only 12.3 seconds.
4,038 units of the Ford GT are built. That is of course not much, but it only becomes really rare when we talk about the GTX1. Indeed, the car you see pictured here. An open version of the GT will be presented at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas in 2005, again based on an open GT40 from the 1960s. The reactions are so positive and overwhelming that Ford decides to build a limited edition of the open GT. 38 were eventually built, making the GTX1 an absolute rarity. In addition to the fact that the GTX1 does not have a fixed roof, it is also immediately recognizable by the special seats, the rear bumper shines through its absence and wheels are also special for the GTX1. In addition, and last but not least, the roofless GT has 700 horsepower! 150 hp more than normal.
This GTX1 is finished in beautiful anthracite gray paint with silver gray stripes, as is almost mandatory for a Ford GT. The paint is beautiful, but that’s no wonder with a mileage of only 10,879. The car is actually just in new condition, so whether we look at the wheels, the rubbers and windows or the lighting elements: new is the only thing that comes to mind.
The interior is also basically new. Whether it is the leather of the special bucket seats, the richly present aluminum details or all meters, buttons and instruments. What a car, what detailing and what a spectacular appearance.
The technology is, as you would expect, completely up to date. A unique opportunity to own an almost unique car, this Ford GTX1.
