Description

1926 Humber 9/20hp Tourer. Chassis number: L2453Engine Number 2453Registration number: DP7434A stunning little Vintage tourer in presented in absolutely impeccable order throughout. The previous owners family had the car for 40 years. During this time a decades long restoration program was undertaken. Upon passing it on to the fastidious last owner a number of more recent jobs were undertaken as follows:5 off new tyresNew Hardy Spicer prop discsReplacement cone clutch friction materialNew Gaskets and seals all round. Auto Vac overhaul. Brake overhaulNew Chain and sprockets for Dynastart assembly (new brushes)New front dampersLED lighting. A substantial amount of rewiring in cotton braided . Fully serviced. The car is finished in Grey over black with the paint being in fine order to show standards. To the interior is luxurious & comfortable brown buttoned hide covering the front & rear seats. The hide extends to the door cars & beige carpets complete the interior trim. An easily erected black double duck roof provides cover for inclement conditions. Under the bonnet the car is in equally fine order with a well detailed engine bay in impeccable order. The engine starts instantly & runs like new; the car having benefited from a major restoration a few years ago & having covered few miles since. Fuel is delivered via the rebuilt autovac unit. An enormous Klaxon with a sonorous tone is bolted to the bulkhead. Driving the car is a real trip down memory lane. The car is very very light & direct on the steering. taut in the suspension & a real pleasure to drive. The three speed 'box is easily mastered whilst the centre throttle gives a true vintage feel. The car sits on painted artillery style wheels & has a full compliment of brass instruments recessed into the dash original wooden dash. Performance wise the car is very similar. if not a little quicker then a comparable 20hp Rolls Royce. A spare shell fuel tank is fitted to the running board & here is a fold our luggage rack to the rear. The radiator is capped with an arrow pointer style temperature gauge. The front shock absorbers have been rebuilt resulting in the fine ride the car gives today. The car is a delight to drive & is at its best around 45mph on leafy B roads where it comes into its element. It needs nothing more then regular use & is absolutely ready for the summer season.Office 01375 379719Richard Biddulph 07967 260673Christoff Cowens 07772188037We accept Credit/Debit Cards.Part Exchange welcome.Weekend & evening viewings OK.Viewings by appointment :Prestige House.9 Globe Industrial Estate,Grays, Essex, RM17 6ST
