Renaissance Classics are proud to offer our customers this vibrant performance icon – a 1994 BMW (E36) M3 Coupe!
The E36 was BMW’s 3rd generation of the popular executive car range. This variant was created to replace the already successful E30 chassis platform and benefited from a multilink rear suspension set-up that improved handling characteristics dramatically. Launched in 1990 the E36 came in coupe, saloon, convertible, estate (touring) body styles and even a compact version was launched later in the models life before production stopped in 2000. Despite having big E30 shaped boots to fill – the E36 proved to be a very competent machine, winning praise and awards across the automotive and motorsport worlds, allowing the car to maintain desirability with even today’s driving enthusiasts!
This particular car is the flagship M3 variant. The M3 was designed to give the driver a more focused and performance orientated driving experience. Powered by a high revving 3.0 litre inline 6 (S50b30), with variable valve timing and individual throttle bodies, producing an impressive 286bhp at just shy of 7,500rpm and 258lbft of torque, the M3 had heaps of performance within a car that could be used every day. The M3 also benefited from subtle but beefier bodywork, improved suspension, improved brakes and a limited slip differential to separate it from the rest of the BMW range. The M3’s potential, affordable price-tag and usability propelled the car to automotive superstardom making it the benchmark coupe that other manufactures aim to compete with. The sky-rocketing residual values of the earlier generation M3’s has had a halo effect on the rest of the BMW range over the last few years, meaning well maintained examples of the E36 are at an all-time high, making them highly desirable to any budding driver and collector looking for a fun vehicle to invest in.
