This car was recently discovered in an enclosed garage where it has been parked and covered since 1975 . It appears to have been repainted ,possibly in its original color yellow, prior to storing it in 1975 . The car has had one owner since 1975 .
With the exception of the sagging headliner, the cars interior is 100% complete and immaculate. There's no ripps or tears in any of the seats. The door panels are complete without any defects. The carpet is complete without ant wholes . The dashboard, instrument panels, and steering wheel are original and in impeccable condition.
The exterior of the car shows as well as the interior. A couple of items to address are : driver's side mirror is broken. One small dent on passenger front fender. Small bubbling on lower front passenger fender. ( doesn't appear to be penetrating ) , all four tires are deflated from sitting idle for almost 50 years. Aside from the aforementioned issues and the car being repainted, the interior and exterior are 100% complete , and they are in an original and well preserved state.
Mechanically, no attempt has been made to start it . The motor is still intact and other mechanical parts, including the gas tank , are in the trunk.
With only 1800 made , this example is a must have for any collector desiring a modest and straightforward restoration. This is a true, California, barnfind !!!
Update: in the days to come, I will be installing new tires and the car will benefit from a complete detailing. Stay tuned for additional pictures of this Glas, minus the 50 year old dust.
