Description

We proudly present this very unique Alvis 3-Litre Special Grand Prix Racer, which is truly in sublime condition. The legendary English brand Alvis is known for its impressive cars and existed from 1919 to 1967. During that time, not only passenger cars were produced, but also racing cars. These cars were known for their solid build quality and sporting ambitions.

This magnificent Alvis 3-Litre Special was built by Racing Green Engineering from Wales. This company is known for the high-quality construction and restoration of various unique historic cars. The construction of this unique Alvis was completed in 2014 and is based on an Alvis TA14 (from 1950) with a 3-liter Alvis TC six-cylinder engine. The result is an impressive racing car from the 1930s, but with technology from the 1950s. It is difficult to describe the high build quality, as this car was built in a highly skilled and perfect manner. Everything has been executed in such perfect fashion, with a keen eye for detail.

As mentioned, the original chassis of a 1950 Alvis TA14 forms the basis for this unique racing car. The aluminum bodywork was hand-formed by the craftsmen at Racing Green Engineering and inspired by pre-war racing cars from the legendary brand. The beautiful and perfectly matching Old English White color, combined with the black stripes and accents and the black leather interior, creates a perfect match. The impressive, long hood, the low seating position, and the large deep black wire wheels underscore the pre-war character of this Alvis 3-Litre Special. The car is in impressively pristine condition, and the body color has a stunning deep gloss. Naturally, the various chrome and trim parts are also still in shiny condition.

The interior is of the same high quality. The black leather bucket seats are firm and in pristine condition. The dashboard features stylish instruments, and a valuable Halda Twinmaster has also been installed, allowing the car to be used during historic touring and rally events. This has also been done in the past, as an old FIVA Certificate is still present with the car and the car also participated in the Gran Premio Nuvolari in Italy. A black tonneau cover is also included with this Alvis 3-Litre. A complete maintenance history is also available for this car. Currently, this Alvis has German registration.

Under the hood lies an impressive 3.0-liter six-cylinder Alvis engine (type TC) coupled to a fully synchronized four-speed manual gearbox. All technical parts are in impressively perfect condition. During the build of this unique race car, the original chassis and technical components were fully restored and overhauled to perfection. The result is a car that starts perfectly and drives wonderfully, and the engine produces a lively and beautiful sound. This car is not a replica, but without any doubt a unique and authentic Alvis special, built by a renowned specialist. A unique find for an enthusiast of ‘Pre-War’ sports cars, offering the ease and driving comfort of the 1950s.
