This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, The Classic Sale at CarFest 2026 on Saturday the 29th of August and Sunday the 30th of August at The Wing, Silverstone Circuit, NN12 8TN.
Built in 1966 to left-hand drive specification, this Jaguar E-Type was originally dispatched from Jaguar Cars New York. It was imported from South Carolina, USA in 2009 and subsequently used as the basis for a Jaguar E-Type Lightweight evocation, with the aim of creating a fast road and occasional track-day car. However, those plans were never realized.
Originally finished in Opalescent Maroon with black leather upholstery and a black soft-top, the vehicle now presents in red. Work completed includes the installation of new floorpans, sills, and various Martin Robey replacement panels, along with a replacement front subframe.
The car has been converted to right-hand drive and fitted with a running USA-specification 4.2-litre straight-six engine, reportedly paired with a close-ratio four-speed manual gearbox.
It is accompanied by a substantial quantity of parts, including a stainless steel exhaust system, refurbished radiator, partially renewed wiring loom, fuel system components, braking components, interior trim items, and a set of Vredestein tyres. The package also includes invoices and a British Motor Museum Heritage Certificate.
Offered as a stalled restoration project with significant work already completed, this presents an excellent opportunity to complete a Jaguar E-Type Lightweight-inspired build. Viewing is highly recommended.
