Sometimes we come across such stunning classic cars that have reached the height of perfection. This 1969 Jaguar E-Type Coupé 4.2-liter Series 2 is one such car. Not only because of the sublime condition of this stylish and stunning coupé, nor because of the perfect (and original) color combination of Regency Red and beige leather interior. It's above all the exceptional perfection with which this beautiful Jaguar E-Type has been restored. The car was originally delivered to Canada. After sitting in a parking garage for a long time (approximately 18 years), the last owner purchased this E-Type in 2007 and began a professional body-off restoration. An extensive photo report was taken during the restoration, which shows that the car was still in excellent condition before the restoration began. The car was completely disassembled, and every part was individually restored and repainted. The body panels were painted in the original and stylish Regency Red, and all the chrome was also replaced. The perfectly matching chrome spoke wheels with wing nuts were also installed. The various rubber parts and trims are, of course, also completely new. The result is a unique Jaguar E-Type Coupé in sublime and impressive mint condition.
The interior of this Jaguar E-Type Series 2 is also in exceptionally perfect condition. During the restoration, the entire interior upholstery (carpets, headliner, seats, door panels, etc.) was completely replaced in the original beige color. The beige leather seats are in mint condition and perfectly comfortable. The various chrome and trim parts are also in absolutely mint condition. The dashboard is a beautiful sight, and all instruments, of course, work properly. During the restoration, the dashboard lighting was replaced with reliable LED lighting. The beautiful and matching Classic Retro radio has MP3 functionality and is connected to a Moral speaker system. The wooden steering wheel is not only stunning to look at but also complements the interior perfectly.
Under the hood, everything gleams. The magnificent and fully overhauled 4.2-liter 6-cylinder engine is a jewel to behold (and to hear). During the extensive restoration, not only were the engine and gearbox completely overhauled, but several technical improvements were also made. For example, not only was the entire cooling system (radiator, hoses, etc.) replaced, but an electronic ignition and fuel pump were also installed. The car also features a completely new stainless steel exhaust system and adjustable GAZ shock absorbers all around. Naturally, the brake system has also been completely overhauled, and the differential gears have been changed to 3.07-1 European ratios. The gauges have also been modified with Nisonger Instruments. But the most striking (or impressive) feature is the completely reinstalled manifold with three new SU carburetors. With this modification, the engine not only has more power (265 hp) but also has the European configuration.
This car is not only in impressive and sublime condition, but has also been meticulously maintained. An extensive file with maintenance invoices and other documents is also available. Naturally, this beautiful Jaguar E-Type also comes with a Certificate of Heritage. We are, without a doubt, impressed with this beautiful and stylish coupé. This classic sports car drives surprisingly smoothly and comfortably. Needless to say, everything functions perfectly. The 4.2-liter 6-cylinder engine (combined with the stainless steel exhaust system) produces a magnificent sound and provides an ultimate driving experience.
