Description

Jaguar E-type Coupe for saleThe Jaguar E-Type Series 2 Coupe, produced from 1968 to 1971, was an evolution of the iconic British sports car, improving both performance and comfort. Featuring a redesigned front with open headlights, improved cooling with a larger grille and dual electric fans, and a more ergonomic interior, the Series 2 built on the Series 1's previous success with modern enhancements. Under the hood, it retained the legendary 4.2-liter inline-six engine, delivering smooth and reliable performance.Exterior: The exterior of this Jaguar E-Type Series 2 Coupe is in nice condition. The car underwent a high-quality restoration in the Netherlands, completed in 2000, which has held up well. The beautiful dark blue metallic paintwork (which is the car's factory color) is still in excellent condition. Panel gaps around the car are also excellent, and the doors close brilliantly. However, a few chrome pieces have deteriorated slightly since the restoration, they still look nice but are no longer perfect. Aesthetically, this E-Type looks as good as it can, with slightly wider wire-spoke wheels, period-correct Michelin XWX tires, and the perfect ride height.Interior: Inside, the Jaguar E-Type Coupe features a nice beige leather interior that goes beautifully with the dark blue exterior. The interior was also restored and reupholstered in 2000 and has since gained a nice patina. There are also a few aesthetic upgrades. The originally vinyl-upholstered dashboard has been replaced with a wood-finished one, and the original black rings around the car’s instruments have been swapped for chrome ones. In my opinion, this is a tasteful upgrade that enhances the E-Type’s otherwise slightly dull dashboard. Being a Series 2 E-Type, it features comfortable seats with adjustable backrests, unlike the Series 1. Of course, it retains the same large and beautiful trunk space. Other interior features include air conditioning and a functioning classic stereo.Engine and Mechanics: If you're planning to use your E-Type and perhaps take it on a few longer road trips, this is undoubtedly the Jaguar E-Type Series 2 Coupe for you. In terms of driving, this one is as good as they come. Since its restoration, this E-Type has received extensive work to iron out any flaws. Additionally, the car has a range of mechanical upgrades, including a five-speed Tremec gearbox, a rear differential with a lower gear ratio, larger triple SU carburetors, open air filters, a high-torque starter motor, an electronic ignition system, and a modern, efficient alternator. The engine, however, remains the matching-numbers 4.2-liter inline-six. This car is really nice to drive, with smooth power delivery, a tight gearbox, and a beautiful exhaust note. Thanks to its extra gear, lowered gear ratio, and wider wheels, the car is also excellent on the highway, cruising at low RPMs and feeling very stable at high speeds.History and Documentation: This car was imported from the U.S. in 1997. In 2000, its major restoration was completed in the Netherlands, where the body, interior, and engine were restored. Since then, it has received consistent care and maintenance. The car comes with exceptional documentation, including detailed images of its restoration, a wealth of service records after the restoration (as well as some from its time in the U.S.), and a logbook detailing all the work done on the car. Last but not least the car comes with a heritage certificate, proving the car is in its correct color and that it has its original engine. If you live in Sweden and would like to sell your classic Jaguar, please let us know here. Models like XK150 MKX, XK140, XK120 in excellent condition are of interest.
