Description

Make: Jaguar
Model: E-Type

It is rare to come across a classic car that has withstood the test of time as impressively as this 1973 Jaguar E-Type V12 Roadster. As a matching-numbers example, never restored and still largely covered in its original paint, this is not a restored car but a truly authentic E-Type. A completely original example that has retained its character and still exudes the charm of the early 1970s.

Exterior: The body is in beautiful, largely original condition and still retains some of its original paint. The black soft top was replaced in 1993 and complements the E-Type’s timeless design perfectly. The chrome trim, including the bumpers and the Haan chrome-spoke wheels, is exceptionally well-maintained and gives the car an elegant look.

Interior: Step inside and experience the luxury of an iconic British sports car. The black leather interior is in beautiful, original condition and perfectly complements the car’s authentic character. The dashboard and controls have been preserved in their original form, allowing the interior to still exude the atmosphere of 1973. An E-Type like this—never restored and featuring so many original details—is a rare find today.

Mechanics: Under the long hood lies the impressive 5.3-liter V12 engine, mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. Thanks to excellent maintenance, the mechanical components are in exceptionally good condition. The transmission and driveshaft were overhauled in 1993, followed by a cylinder head overhaul in 2009. In 2016, the engine underwent a complete overhaul, including new cylinder liners, pistons, timing chain, and guides. The crankshaft was ground and fitted with new bearings by Rob Beere Race Engineering in the UK. The car was fitted with a new radiator, stainless steel exhaust system, and all suspension bushings were replaced. The steering rack was replaced in the late 1990s, and the adjustable shock absorbers contribute to excellent handling. The Jaguar also features power steering.

History: This E-Type was delivered new in the United States in 1973 and imported to the Netherlands in 1993. The current owner has maintained it with great care since 2001. Thanks to its comprehensive maintenance history, numerous technical upgrades, and the fact that it has never been restored but has always remained original, this is a rare opportunity for enthusiasts seeking an authentic, matching-numbers Jaguar E-Type V12 Roadster with an exceptionally well-documented history.
