If you wanted a luxury sedan with the performance of a sports car in the 1960s, the Jaguar Mk II was the car to have. With power well over 200 pk, these were extremely fast cars that offered a high level of comfort. It’s no coincidence that police were required to drive Jaguars back then, and criminals invariably chose a Jaguar to rob a bank or commit other crimes. TV hero Inspector Morse also chose an Mk II.
The Mk II we’re offering here is equipped with a very pleasant 3.4-liter six-cylinder engine. With 210 pk of power, it remains a very sporty car whose performance still regularly leaves modern cars in the dust. Not that that needs to be an end in itself, because the Jaguar drives incredibly well even when you’re driving sportily without pushing it to the limit. That’s not even necessary, since the car has plenty of power and torque across the entire rev range.
This Jaguar Mk II was delivered to its first owner on January 1, 1964. It has been on Dutch roads since July 1999. The Mk II has already undergone a beautiful professional restoration, with no expense or effort spared to achieve the best possible result. The car was painted in a unique light green color that looks absolutely fantastic. Rarely have we seen an Mk II that looks as stunning as this one. The light green paint contrasts beautifully with the chrome trim, which is in concours condition, including the bumpers, grille, lighting components, and wire-spoke wheels.
The car’s exterior is complemented by a beautiful dark interior that matches the exterior color perfectly. The leather has a lovely patina, giving it a sense of authenticity, and the entire interior is in superb condition, with no flaws or damage. The woodwork has been expertly lacquered eight times, making it look like new.
The engine, which was completely overhauled at the time, runs beautifully and sounds very smooth. It is paired with a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. The entire engine and drivetrain function perfectly, providing a fantastic driving experience along with well-tuned suspension and precise steering. Driving this car is a true joy, combining sportiness and smoothness.
The Jaguar comes with a photo album documenting the restoration process and a large number of receipts. This Mk II is a top-notch car in exceptionally good condition, with an excellent color scheme and a compelling history.
