Description

This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, The Classic Sale at the NEC Classic Motor Show 2025 on Sunday the 9th of November, NEC, Birmingham, B40 1NT.
The Jaguar XJC was introduced in 1975 as a two-door pillarless coupé based on the Series 2 saloon, produced in limited numbers until 1978 and now regarded as one of the most distinctive XJs
Purchased in 2017 by our vendor who immediately commenced a bare metal restoration which included rebuilt suspension, new seals, stainless steel tread plates and much more. The work was finished in 2018 (full details in the Seller Rating)
Finished in Opalescent Gunmetal Grey, a period Jaguar colour also used on the E-Type, set off by four chrome wheels with matching spare and a fully retrimmed Deep Red leather interior with new red wool carpets
Fitted with a Series 3 4.2-litre fuel-injection XK engine paired with a refurbished gearbox, supported by dual fuel tanks, a cross-over valve, and a bespoke stainless-steel exhaust system with larger tailpipes
Upgraded with a Series 3 wiring loom to operate the injection ECU, improved window switches, and a period-style DAB radio offering modern usability
Supplied with spare paint, some original parts, MOTs, supporting detailed history file with receipts and photographs of the restoration, a Jaguar Heritage Certificate, and a selection of show trophies.
Few pillarless coupés remain on UK roads today, and fewer still present in such outstanding condition
