Sold new in Sweden – a very well preserved Jaguar XJ-SC V12 in rare and distinctive specification.

When Jaguar developed the XJ-S in the 1970s, increasing US safety and emissions regulations led many manufacturers to abandon open cars altogether. As a result, a full convertible XJ-S was never originally planned. When demand for open cars returned in the early 1980s, Jaguar lacked the resources to redesign the body structure.

Instead, the XJ-SC was introduced: a strict two-seater targa version with removable roof panels above the front seats, a fixed roll-over hoop and a small rear soft top. Production was limited – only approximately 5,000 XJ-SC cars were built in total, of which around 3,500 were equipped with the 5.3-litre V12, making this version significantly rarer than the later full convertible.

This example is powered by the legendary 5.3-litre V12 producing 269 hp, paired with an automatic transmission, offering smooth, effortless performance and classic Jaguar refinement.
