Description

When Jaguar introduced a successor to the E-Type in the mid-1970s, not everyone was immediately enthusiastic. The E-Type had made a huge impression, and a successor would never have an easy time of it. Jaguar deliberately chose a different direction, creating a car that was not sharper or sportier, but one designed for effortless long-distance cruising. It was comfortable, quiet, and powered by an engine with plenty of spare capacity. This became the XJ-S. Under the hood, the XJ-S utilized much of the technology from the XJ sedan, giving the car the character Jaguar envisioned—calm when needed, powerful when demanded. From the start, the twelve-cylinder engine was the heart of the car. A V12 that had been part of the Jaguar lineup for years, it perfectly matched the car’s character. In the early 1980s, the engine was further developed with the introduction of the High Efficiency version, featuring modified cylinder heads and improved fuel economy. The XJ-S continued to excel at its primary purpose: covering long distances without fatigue. The design remained instantly recognizable for years, with a long hood, low roofline, and wide rear end. It never drew attention in a flashy way, preferring to showcase its qualities on the road. This particular example exemplifies why enthusiasts seek out original XJ-S models. It has had only two owners since new, with an odometer reading just 77,000 kilometers. The car still retains its original paint, which looks stunning. The maintenance history is complete, and the condition is fantastic, with beautifully aligned body panels and an elegant interior featuring fine carpets. When driven, it’s immediately clear that this is a low-mileage Jaguar. If you’re interested, we warmly invite you to experience it for yourself. You’ll understand what makes this car special.
