Description

See for information in English down belowJaguar XK140 OTS 1956 - Originally delivered in the United States (LHD)- Full-body restored in 1992 (photos available)- Excellently maintained (extensive documentation available)- Beautiful red paintwork with black leather interior and wire wheels- Recently registered on Dutch registration- Both optically and technically in very good condition- 3.354 OTS examples built- Getrag 5-speed gearbox- Telescopic shock absorbers- Aluminum fuel tank- Original engine- The Jaguar XK 140: a benchmark of the British car industry. Eéone of the fastest street-legal cars of its time but at the same time a comfortable touring car, which also made it particularly successful in the United States. Nowadays we are happy with an "American" XK, because cars from here are original left-hand drive and mostly rust free. Unique to the example we are offering is that the history since 1990 is present: a wealth of extensive documentation including an extensive photo reportage of the restoration, appraisal report and maintenance bills. From 1992 to 2005 the car was in the favorable climate of Dallas (Texas). Even from this time much documentation is present. Even the Texas license plate is still with the car! In 1992, the car was "full-body" restored. In the process it received its striking red color and black leather interior. In 2005, the car was imported to England, where it was driven and stored dry only in dry weather. On average it was driven only about 250 miles per year. Again, the car was well maintained and proved to be very reliable. The black soft top is still in good condition, as is the interior. The original 6-cylinder inline engine sounds really great. The last service was performed in 2023 (approx. €3,400,-) where, among other things, the clutch was replaced. In 2022 a new aluminum gasoline tank was installed. In 2025 the car was completely overhauled where, among other things, the front brake cylinders were replaced (total invoice € 1,850). Furthermore, the car is equipped with a BMW Getrag 5-speed gearbox, stainless steel exhaust, telescopic shock absorbers and aluminum radiator for better cooling. Not only a picture to look at, but therefore also improved handling. In 2024 the Jaguar was registered by us on Dutch registration plates. Minor repairs have also been carried out and the car has been professionally polished. In short: an XK 140 in very good condition with extensive history, completely ready for the next enthusiast! General information about the Jaguar XK 140The XK was Jaguar's first produced car after World War II. This model began with the XK 120 starting in 1948, with 120 indicating the top speed in miles per hour. At the time, it was the fastest street-legal production car. In 1954, the XK 140 was introduced, focusing more on comfort. The interior was given more legroom and luxury. In addition, the suspension was improved and modern shock absorbers came under the car. Power from the 3442 cc 6-cylinder engine was boosted to a whopping 193 hp. Optical differences included a slightly larger grille and thicker bumpers. Three body styles were available: the FHC (Fixed Head Coupé), DHC Cabriolet (Drophead Coupé) and the OTS Roadster (Open Two Seater). Only 3,354 examples of the OTS were built. The XK is considered ééone of the most important British classic sports cars ever built.Jaguar XK140 OTS 1956 - Originally delivered in the United States (LHD)- Full-body restored in 1992 (photos available)- Excellently maintained (extensive documentation available)- Beautiful red paintwork with black leather interior and wire wheels- Recently registered in the Netherlands- Both optically and technically in very good condition- 3,354 OTS units built- Getrag 5-speed gearbox- Telescopic shock absorbers- Aluminum fuel tank- Original engineThe Jaguar XK 140: A benchmark of the British car industry.
