This Jaguar XK8 Convertible is a timeless youngtimer in the perfect color combination. Delivered new in the Netherlands on January 31, 1997, it was among the first units produced, as the model's production began in October 1996. The car has been well-maintained over the years and is equipped with premium options. The original price was 239,000 guilders (€114,000), reflecting high-quality craftsmanship. The original booklets, including the price list, manuals, “Total Care” handbook, and instruction booklets, have been carefully preserved. Two remote-control keys are included.
Exterior
The XK8’s design is inspired by classic Jaguars like the E-Type, featuring a long hood, low front end, oval grille, flowing fenders, and a compact cabin set far back for elegant GT proportions. The convertible top is neatly tucked away, maintaining a clean silhouette whether open or closed. Details such as narrow taillights, chrome accents, and rounded shapes enhance its luxurious and timeless appearance. The car rides on 18-inch 7-spoke alloy wheels. Headlights are in good condition and equipped with headlight washers.
The original color code JGZ (Antigua Mica) is a deep blue metallic shade that pairs beautifully with the dark blue convertible top and beige interior. The exterior shows signs of use consistent with its age, and the convertible top is in good condition.
Interior
The XK8 comes well-equipped with features such as air conditioning, power-adjustable mirrors, automatic headlights and windshield wipers, an alarm system, a high-quality audio system, cruise control, and refined finishes. This particular car has the “Classic Interior Package” and the “Memory Package,” including Ivory leather upholstery, a wood-trimmed gearshift knob, an electrically adjustable steering wheel finished in wood and leather, a burl walnut veneer dashboard, and electrically adjustable seats with memory and heating functions.
The interior is in good condition, with some signs of wear consistent with the age. The wood-trimmed dashboard still shines beautifully, and the steering wheel is in good shape. The trunk is tidy and includes a toolkit, spare tire, and an original roof rack. The sunroof operates properly.
Technical Specifications
The Jaguar XK8 features the new AJ26 4.0-liter V8 engine, an all-aluminum 32-valve DOHC unit producing 290 horsepower and 393 Nm of torque. It is paired with a ZF 5HP24 five-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive. The car has independent suspension all around and ventilated disc brakes. It offers sporty yet comfortable GT driving dynamics, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in about 7 seconds with a top speed of approximately 250 km/h.
The vehicle handles, brakes, and shifts well and is free of mechanical issues. The previous owner serviced the car at Land Rover-Jaguar dealership De Reefhorst in Oudehaske.
