Description

Jaguar XK120 Coupe 1952 for saleIt's been 76 years since the first Jaguar XK120 was offered to the public. Yet, when you experience driving one of these cars, it feels as timeless as ever. Originally, it came as an open two-seater and a fixed head coupe. Later, they added a drop head coupe option. The Jaguar XK Coupe had a straight six-cylinder engine with twin SU carburetors, producing about 160hp. A special equipment version was also available giving 20hp extra.Exterior: The Jaguar XK120 Coupe 1952 looks stunning in black. To make it stand out and look a bit racier, the spoke wheels were painted in red. It is today wearing an older paintwork with small traces of use. The chrome pieces are also in excellent condition and make a great contrast to the black paint. Underneath the car looks as nice as it does on top. The entire frame has been painted and is 100% free from rust and sticky rust protection.Interior: The Jaguar XK120 FHC is designed for averaged-sized drivers. In this car, the seat bottom is slightly lower on the driver’s side to accommodate a taller driver. The leather seats and carpets are in excellent condition, and the wood panels are nice despite a few small cracks in the clear coat. The door cards and headliner have also been recently replaced. Right behind the seats, there is a small compartment, and underneath it, there are two brand new batteries.Engine and mechanics: The Jaguar XK120 is powered by a 3.4-liter straight six-cylinder engine that delivers 162hp. This is a matching numbers car, and the engine runs wonderfully. The original Moss gearbox performs excellently. There are still a few minor mechanical adjustments to deal with during the winter in the garage, or they might be fixed by the time you come to see the car. Overall, it’s a very sound and solid car. The entire brake system has recently been revised, and the car has undergone recent servicing. It also features a new aluminum fuel tank and fuel lines, as well as a new stainless-steel exhaust. The engine, gearbox and final drive are exceptionally dry for a Jaguar of this age.History: Imported from USA to Sweden back in 2012, this car has not been driven much since it was standing in a museum. Now with new Technical Inspection here in Sweden and ready to go.
