Chassis number: S825043 DN
First registered: 23. 10. 1959
UK registration: ‘6797 N’
What a rare opportunity to acquire THE and ONLY one fine example of a station wagon on a basis of a XK 150. A “one off” only for “one off’s”!
Jaguar never produced an estate version of its XK 150 but Mr. Douglas Hull from UK did in the years ’60!
This very exceptional and elegant RHD car is a “one off production” Jaguar based and built on a XK150 S 3. 8 litre version in 1964 through Douglas Wilson Spratt from WSM, who was very known for building special bodies a and well respected restorer. He wanted to create a special tow car for VSCC racers and ERA racing luminary Douglas Hull. It is a truly beautiful car and a real head turner and Wilson Spratt got the balance absolutely right since the rear body doesn’t dominate the XK’s already shapely front. Already soon this XK with formerly number plate ‘6797 N’ drew the attention of amateur racers in in the UK at that time und therefore received the nick name “TOW CAR”. The car had a lovely racing history at those times in the UK and is a very known car in the Jaguar Car Clubs worldwide.
For all connoisseurs who have followed the history and life of this stunning beauty: she has back her towing hook!
This elegant machine has been restored in the years ’90 for a very long period of time. It is very well restored with considerable attention paid to retaining as many original parts as was considered possible. The car is finished in its striking grey gun metal paintwork exterior with a lovely red leather interior and looking as good as it did when it left its restoration almost 40 years ago. The car is in very good state and condition and very well serviced an maintained.
It is a real driving pleasure. The engine drives smooth and responsive, the car is beautifully balanced and cruises amazing. Its rare S variant and its 3 carburettors make it a very sportive drive. In 2011/ 2012 engine rebuilt and change to a 5-speed Getrag gearbox. A well-sorted example throughout!
This shooting brake has been participant in many rallies, classic car events and Concours d’Elegance.
The car has been published and described in numerous magazines and articles. A well-known car in the press! Full known ownership. The car is exceptionally documented with 5 big folders, 2 photo books from its restoration, Heritage Certificate, many service invoices, and much correspondences even over earlier times. A real additional treat for anyone who loves complete history of a car and its past. There are not many cars on the market which are so greatly documented.
This is a unique and rare chance to purchase “a one of a kind”. For the real (Jaguar) fans and connoisseurs who want to complete their collection with something extraordinary and special! This breathtaking car needs to be seen and driven!
The car is part of a German (Jaguar) classis car collection and current owner admired her as much as we do! This cat is ready a new owner.
