Description

It must have been a while since you last saw a Lamborghini Islero. Unless of course you are one of the lucky 125 owners of an Islero. Lamborghini built only 125 of these cars. The body was designed by Carrozzeria Marazzi. They worked on the excellent basis that the Lamborghini 400GT offered. Carrozzeria Touring was responsible for the design of the 400GT, however, in the meantime they had gone bankrupt and many designers of Touring had found a new home at the newly established Carrozzeria Marazzi. Maria Marazzi herself had also come from Touring. This example was newly delivered in Switzerland on February 8, 1963 by Lamborghini dealer Foïtek in Zurich. The bodywork of the Islero has powerful lines. The car looks fast even when parked. This example is in very good condition. The paintwork has been repainted once and is in good condition and also the chrome and the rims look great. The sheet metal is well cared for with clean fits.

The interior is already completely refurbished with black carpets and black leather. The carpets connect everywhere nicely and have the right fit. The leather is well maintained and wonderfully supple. The wooden gear lever and wooden steering wheel are also in good condition. Even the headliner is in good condition. The instruments and controls all function as you would expect. The technique is very well maintained. The 4.0 liter V12 engine runs perfectly. The engine delivers 330hp and is fed by six dual Weber carburetors. The five-speed transmission was designed by Lamborghini itself and was very modern for that time. The transmission has Syncromesh rings on all gears, which was very progressive for that time. The transmission is precise and shifts like it should. The suspension is also a work of art. The car has fully independent wheel suspension with double wishbones and is fitted with good dampers, giving the car fantastic road holding. The Islero is a sporty Gran Tourer that makes no distinction between attacking your favorite mountain road or traveling at speed through Europe. In short, a very beautiful and very rare Lamborghini Islero in a fantastic color scheme and good condition.
