Description

Lamborghini unveiled the Miura at the 1966 Geneva Motor Show, and the automotive world changed overnight. Engineers placed the V12 engine transversally in the middle of the car, a first for any production vehicle. Moreover, this decision established the template for every supercar that followed. Marcello Gandini at Bertone designed the body, combining breathtaking proportions with genuine performance. Lamborghini then introduced the P400 S in 1968, bringing improvements to the engine, suspension and interior. Today, it remains one of the most beautiful and significant cars ever built.
Lamborghini dispatched this Miura S from the factory in November 1970. The first owner took delivery in Lausanne, Switzerland, registering the car in the spring of 1971. Subsequently, the car passed through four owners over more than five decades, never leaving Switzerland. Furthermore, each transfer is fully documented, making this an unusually traceable example in a market where provenance is everything.
The third owner repainted the car red during his tenure. However, a careful restoration subsequently returned it to its original Grigio Indianapolis over black interior. This colour combination suits the Miura’s lines perhaps better than any other. Indeed, Grigio Indianapolis ranks among the rarest and most sought-after colours on a Miura, giving the car an understated, almost sculptural quality. Today the car presents in superb condition, and it has additionally proven its standing by winning a concours d’élégance.
