2002 LOTUS MOTORSPORT ELISE (1 of 50 examples)...The MotorSport Elise was developed by Lotus MotorSport as a lightweight race-ready variant of the Elise for competition use with just 50 cars produced, This particular Motorsport Elise is believed to be the first of just three prototypes built by Lotus Cars (1 central driving position, 1 RHD & 1 LHD car) and is now believed to be the only surviving example, This example was also used as the 1999 Geneva Motor Show car to showcase the new Lotus MotorSport Elise to the public, After the Geneva Motor Show debut Lotus Cars completed a tour with the car to all of the UK Lotus main dealer showrooms and special events, the car was then placed in storage by Lotus Cars and remained unused until late 2002 when the car was purchased as a project from Lotus Cars by highly regarded Lotus Specialist NTC Cars, NTC Cars completely re-built the car utilizing a Scholar 190 bhp K-Series VHPD engine with Throttle bodies, Enlarged gas flowed exhaust etc, 5-speed manual gearbox, The car was SVA’d and road registered by DVLA on the 1st January 2002 with the cherished registration number G19 OSE issued making this possibly the only road registered MotorSport Elise known, G19 OSE was subsequently then displayed by special request from Lotus Cars in the Design Centre at Hethel, The car still retains its unique prototype features including its unique rear clamshell design, Complete with provenance file including a current V5C logbook, Old MOT’s, Old tax discs, Various work/parts invoices, NTC Cars letter confirming provenance, Various correspondences from DVLA reference registration, Vehicle Inspectorate Single Vehicle Approval documentation, Vehicle Inspectorate Ministers Approval Certificate, Various Magazines and publications featuring the MotorSport Elise, G19 OSE has just had a comprehensive service plus cambelt replacement, This Geneva MotorSport Elise has remained in a private collection and is showing just 11,000 miles, A unique opportunity to acquire a piece of Lotus Heritage.
