The Maserati Indy was produced in 1136 copies as the successor to Mexico from 1969-1974 and offered comfortable space for 4 people including luggage. As engines, different-sized V8-aluminium engines with 4 overhead camshafts were available, all powered by 4 Weber drop current carburetors and based on the layout of the legendary Maserati 450 S, which was very successful in racing. The body of the Indy is based on a beautiful design by The Vignale studio.
The most sought-after version is undoubtedly the 4.7 liter. The difference to the base Model 4.2 was a power steering system, as well as a comfortable brake booster. Standard 5-speed manual transmission from ZF is designed for the powerful performance of the 290 hp 4.7-liter machine from Maserati. This beautiful indy, delivered in its original color "celeste", is a French first delivery and has always been based in the South of France.
Beautiful is the patinated completely original leather interior, which is a little faded by the French sun at one place or another. Air conditioning, electric window lifters, and green-tinted glazing complete the comfort package. This Indy 4.7 America looks very elegant in this color combination. It presents itself in an authentic non-restored condition with a light patina.
It is breathtaking when the 8 cylinder fired by the Weber carburetors starts. This is how Giuseppe Verdi imagined the choir in Nabucco. This unique pitch simply goes under the skin. The 4.7-liter snorkels, sprouts, and sprouts with the accelerator pedal every time it is gently wagging. Vivo Veloce! A unique show... Forgiveness radio play. With the beautiful eight (!) Veglia instruments are always under the control of the sensitivities of these Indy's, the exact circuiting is responsible for the species-appropriate propulsion, the braking system performs a more than proper service if necessary.
The vehicle has always been carefully maintained and with a high level of technical understanding, and it is complete "matching numbers". All in all, this 2+2 seated sports car icon is still completely undervalued compared to the Bora and Ghibli, almost undiscovered.
