Description

MASERATI QUATTROPORTE 4.7 Series I

The Maserati Quattroporte Series I was produced from 1963 to 1970 in a quantity of 776 pcs. The famous Italian designer Pietro Frua designed this masterpiece. Maserati offered this - at its time - fastest sedan in the world in two versions: a newly designed 8-cylinder engine with 4.2 liters displacement and 260 hp, as well as the high-end version with 4.7 liters and 290 hp. Coupled with the reliable ZF 5-speed transmission, this sports sedan was good for top speeds of beyond 230 km/h. All eliminating luxury was on board the 4.7-liter version as standard, such as. B power steering, air conditioning, and disc brakes all around. A lot of chrome, fantastic Smith instruments, electric window jacks, beautiful toggle switches, and high-quality, very comfortable leather seats rounded off the comfort. Among the famous owners of the Quattroporte were Marcello Mastroianni, Aga Khan, Prince Rainer of Monaco, and Anthony Quinn.

The Maserati Quattroporte offered here is a sensation. Supplied as 4.7 liters with 290 hp in the color celeste, black leather interior with red (!) Carpet on 12.07.1967 via the agency Maserati in Saint Cloud / France. The order and the delivery invoice are available to us. In 1975 it was resold to Marius Durbec in Marseille. He drove in until 1990 and reported the vehicle off. Since then, this Maserati has not been officially registered.

This Quattroporte is completely "matching", never accidental, never painted, and in all sub-areas in absolutely original condition. The 50-year-old leather has been reworked by the Scuderia Sportiva Colonia in a months-long process and is now in fantastic condition. The old woods have been re-polished and shine almost like new. The Smith instruments are serviced, all controls and toggle switches checked and electrics repaired. The underbody is aired with ice and sealed with transparent wax. Never before have we seen such an authentic and dignified vehicle. The technology has been repaired, such as. B replacement of the gasoline pumps, new gasoline, and brake lines, an overhaul of the braking system, overhaul of the air conditioning compressor, water pump, radiator, all hoses renewed, engine overhaul, Weber carburetor sift, adjust and synchronize, re-seal gearboxes, new clutch. The most difficult decision was whether or not this Maserati should be repainted. In the end, the conviction has become established that it is precisely the paint pattern, which is somewhat faded from the southern French sun, that is so fascinating. This sports sedan is in original lacquer, without rust, and without restoration tests. Only the handle on the driver's door was renewed after a break-in in the 1980s. The chromium is patinated, but not gambling. Such a dignified Maserati V8 is unique on the market. Only to give to lovers who really appreciate such a unique and historic vehicle.
