It may not seem that long ago to many, but it has already been more than thirty years since McLaren unveiled its first production car. The F1, with its center-mounted seat and space for a passenger on either side, went down in history as one of the most expensive new cars of its time and has since become a highly sought-after and coveted classic.
After that adventure, things quieted down for a while until McLaren, through Formula 1, entered into a partnership with Mercedes-Benz to produce a number of special models. The third chapter began in 2009 when the brand introduced the MP4-12C—essentially the first model from the McLaren brand as we know it today.
In the years that followed, various versions and models were released in rapid succession. In 2016, the 675LT was the top model in the lineup. Extra light, extra powerful, extra special—and, of course, extra pricey as a result. Truly a very special sports car, and one that isn’t often on the market. We are therefore delighted to offer you this stunning 675LT—where “LT” stands for “Long Tail.” This car is in mint condition and has driven only its original delivery mileage: 63 kilometers.
The McLaren is built around a carbon-fiber monocoque that weighs just 75 kilograms and forms the car’s skeleton. Everything you see is built around this lightweight framework. The body is also made of carbon fiber, making it ultra-light. Its design is quintessentially McLaren: stocky, wide, with a mix of sharp lines and rounded shapes. The Pearl White paint makes the McLaren look even lighter than it already is. Notably, the 675LT is 100 kilograms lighter than the “regular” 650S, on which it is based.
The power output has been increased to 675 horsepower, which explains the model name. With this 675LT, you won’t be able to leave your neighborhood unnoticed; the supercar attracts a lot of attention. It’s the dimensions, the design, and the sound that draw eyes, but enthusiasts will notice the “roof scoop”—the air intake in the roof. This very special option comes from MSO, McLaren Special Operations. It is selected only rarely and costs over €35,000, especially when combined with the MSO carbon fiber trunk lid.
