Without having to worry about road-going regulations, the McLaren P1 GTR is free to push the boundaries and exceed them in every way. When the 375th and final example of the McLaren P1 is built in 2015, production of the GTR, which is entirely focused on the racetrack, will begin. However, only owners of the road-going version will be able to buy it. The dynamic design concept, which was unveiled at the prestigious Concours d'Elegance in California, is a test version of the final model, which will be built, maintained, and supported by McLaren Special Operations. Development work has now entered the next phase - the team is working hard to refine and further optimize the ultimate track sports car. The mid-engine powertrain has an increased output of 1,000 PS (986 bhp) and includes a push-to-pass system that allows more power to be called up momentarily at the touch of a button.
