This rare 6-door MB 600 was ordered on April 24, 1968 for the famous "General" David Sarnoff. David Sarnoff was the pioneer of commercial broadcasting in the USA and also the founder of NBC! In July 1968, the 600 was delivered to him in New York. After Snarnoff's death in 1971, the trail goes cold until the 1990s. The Pullmann was then restored by Lothar Matzenbacher, including chrome, leather, wood trim and the technology. After his completion in 1994, it was still driven from time to time by Bruce Strauss Automotive in Costa Mesa, California.
Only 429 of the 6-door " versions were produced worldwide. The long version with a middle row of folding seats was intended for customers who traveled with staff or bodyguards.
In 2003, the vehicle was exported from the USA to southern France, where it remained for over 10 years. A well-known German company bought the rare 600 Pullman and brought it to Germany, where it was then extensively restored by the renowned Mercedes specialists Fuhrmann & Schulze for over €300,000 until 2014 (many receipts available). After its registration, it was driven little but regularly.
