The 1964 Mercedes 220 W111 Coupe for sale epitomizes timeless elegance and luxury. With its graceful lines, classic chrome accents, and iconic grille, it remains a symbol of automotive sophistication. Powered by a robust 2.2-liter inline-six engine, it delivers a smooth and refined driving experience. The spacious interior is adorned with high-quality materials, including rich wood trim and plush leather seats, providing both comfort and style. Renowned for its exceptional build quality and engineering, the Mercedes 220 W111 Coupe offers a driving experience that is both luxurious and exhilarating, making it a highly sought-after classic car for enthusiasts and collectors alike.

Exterior: This 1964 Mercedes 220 W111 Coupe was painted many years ago, but the car was left standing for an extended period and has only recently returned to the road. For that reason, the deep black paint is as shiny as it could get. The same goes for the brand-new chrome details all around the car. All rubber components have been replaced with new ones. The car is rolling on a set of Michelin tyres. These are actually white wall tyres, but the white side has been turned inwards. Therefore, it is possible to refit them, if you prefer white walls. Every detail underneath the car is in like-new condition. With the big clear glass on this car, the car truly stands out with that stunning original red leather.

Interior: The interior of the car is original and well-maintained, featuring original beautiful red leather upholstery. Only the floor carpets have been replaced. All instruments are in working order, and the wood panels are in excellent condition. The white steering wheel and shifter knob are like the icing on the cake. The trunk area is clean and tidy, complete with the original spare tyre and jack.

Engine and technics: The 1964 Mercedes 220 SE W111 Coupe has been fitted with a factory new engine. It is an exchange unit supplied by Mercedes (Philipsson Sweden), and the engine has only covered a few hundred kilometers, still within its breaking-in period. The original gearbox is in excellent condition. All components in the brake system are new. Every bushing and joint underneath the car has been replaced with new Mercedes original parts.

History: The Mercedes 220SE for sale here rolled off the Mercedes production line on the 12th of December 1963. It was sold new here in Sweden in April 1964 to its first owner, Mr. Fallström. As a wedding gift, he presented the car to his wife-to-be, Brita Colleen, who used the car until 1981. In 1984, she sold the car to a classic car collector in Lindesberg, Mr. Vidfelt. Mr. Vidfelt started a restoration of the Mercedes, taking advantage of the availability of many new parts from Mercedes for this model at that time. He began by purchasing a brand-new engine and numerous other original Mercedes parts. Unfortunately, Mr. Vidfelt passed away in 2014, leaving Ms. Vidfelt with the car until 2023. Under new ownership in 2023 and 2024, the restoration project that began in 1984 was finally completed, and the car returned to the road. It is now reborn and ready for new adventures.
